READY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? The mission of Eco Adventures is to offer hands-on learning experiences that provide educational and enriching ecological experiences to students of all ages. The purpose of these programs is to create positive, personal experiences for participants while inspiring them to make a difference in our planet. Students will have the rare opportunity to encounter extraordinary animals, discover various native and international ecological habitats, explore our environment through various art forms, and learn about ecological, technical, and scientific research projects around the world. The after school program will engage and inspire students to develop life skills, presentation skills, knowledge, social skills and mentor and develop young teens into volunteer and possible future staff positions at Eco Adventures.
This position involves developing and teaching a variety of education programs to children and patrons of all ages. Particularly for afterschool programs. Schedule is Mondays-Fridays from aprox 1:30-6:30pm.
We are looking for an engaging, FUN people-person persona, proven self-motivated, responsible, and natural leader with public speaking/working with children experience a must. We will do all of the training.
Salary: Salary varies depending on experience. Intensive training will be provided.
The purpose of the conservation education educator position is to develop and teach a variety of education programs to children and patrons at birthday parties, outreaches, field trips, library programs, summer camps, school programs, scout programs, after-school programs, special events and festivals, outdoor education settings. The instructor must be experienced with public speaking/teaching to a public audience of up to 100 + people with various animals such as insects, arachnids, amphibians, and reptiles. Administrative assistant duties include the organization and storage of materials and artifacts, assisting with animal husbandry, program logistics, and development. Eco Adventures is looking for energetic, outgoing, responsible, and FUN adults to work as summer counselor staff!
Previous experience working with children is preferred. Must be 18 years or older.

Is your student interested in working with animals or joining peers in exploring nature? Becoming a Counselor in Training is a perfect roll for them. This extraordinary experience offers students 12+ to learn life skills such as team communication, professionalism and responsibility while having fun participating in games, crafts, experiments and animal encounters. Students can sign up for this amazing opportunity during our summer camp season to assist counselors and join the group in games, crafts and so much more, or participate in our afterschool program where they will learn the responsibilities of being an animal caretaker and get hands on time with the animals. If you have a passion for animals and the environment the Junior Assistant program is the perfect place for your passions to grow! Starting as a CIT (Counselor in Training) you will learn the responsibility it takes to become an animal caretaker and work in the science field. From there you can be invited to become a Junior Assistant and start working on animal handling and volunteering at Eco Adventures. We are looking for maturity, responsibility, enthusiasm, customer service skills, teamwork, initiative, self-motivation, public-speaking skills, and take instruction well from staff as well as exhibiting respect for the staff, parents, children and animals. Volunteers play a vital role at Eco Adventures and we are very lucky to have such amazing volunteers on our team. They do tasks such as feeding animals, training and creating enrichment activities for our animals, leading programming and assisting with events.
